YOUR BOARD GUIDE

About Chinese Checkers

Chinese Checkers is a local race across a star-shaped board. Pieces are not captured, so both players' pieces can become stepping stones for a longer hop route. Keep the back of your group moving rather than sending one piece ahead alone. A helpful bridge can save several turns, but it may also give your opponent an opportunity.

Your goal: Move all ten of your pieces into the opposite target camp before the other player does.

Computers are supported. Phone orientation is a recommendation; rotation is never required.

Tap a piece and its destination. The 121-hole board is easier on a large screen; Larger board helps on a phone.

Chinese Checkers tips

  • Bring rear pieces forward before the rest of your group leaves them without hop support.
  • Look for chains of reachable hops before settling for a single neighboring move.
  • Plan the order of arrivals so pieces already inside the target camp leave room for the others.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Moving one piece far ahead while leaving the back row with no useful bridge.
  • Blocking target-camp entrances with pieces that cannot leave the camp again.

Questions about Chinese Checkers

Can I capture the piece I jump over?

No. A hop uses an adjacent piece as a stepping stone, and that piece stays on the board. Multiple hops can form one move.

Is there a computer opponent?

This version is local two-player on a 121-hole star board. Each player controls ten pieces, and pieces that enter their target camp cannot leave it.
