About Snake

Snake starts with plenty of space, but every piece of fruit makes your next route more demanding. The growing body becomes an obstacle you created yourself. Think beyond the next bite: choose an approach that lets the head turn away afterward, and keep an open route through the closed board as the pace increases.

Your goal: Eat fruit to grow your snake and increase your score without hitting a wall or your body.

Computers are supported. Phone orientation is a recommendation; rotation is never required.

Use the touch direction buttons; the square grid fits a portrait phone.

Snake tips

  • Approach fruit from a direction that leaves enough space for your next turn.
  • Use broad loops when your body grows instead of making repeated tight turns.
  • Give each direction change time to take effect before planning the following turn.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Taking the shortest route to fruit when it traps your head behind your own body.
  • Expecting the snake to wrap through a wall or turn directly backward.

Questions about Snake

Does the snake wrap around the edges?

No. This version uses a closed 21 by 21 board. Crossing an outside edge ends the run.

Why does a backward turn do nothing?

A turn directly opposite your current direction is blocked. Turn through a perpendicular direction instead.
